Film i Väst and Igelkott Studios Launch Europe’s Largest Projection-Based Virtual Production Wall
In a landmark collaboration, Film i Väst and Igelkott Studios have built one of the world’s largest projection-based virtual production walls at Studio Fares.
Measuring 24 meters wide and 8 meters high, the wall delivers a seamless, pixelfree image and the flexibility to scale projection setups to meet production needs.
The investment marks a significant step forward for Scandinavian filmmaking, enabling productions to achieve cinematic realism without the limitations of curved LED volumes. The wall’s projection surface allows for deep colors, true focus, and high-contrast imagery that enhances both live-action performance and cinematography. Eric Hasso, Projection FX Producer at Igelkott Studios, highlights the advantages: adaptable projection area rental and a flat, large-scale wall unique to this setup. The project aligns with Film i Väst’s sustainability goals by reducing the need for long-distance travel to remote locations.
“A flat, pixelfree projection wall of this scale is something our competitors can’t offer.”
